For Belilios Public School, down memory lane is a wonderful and memorable journey that reflects the "Patience and Perseverance" required for a determination to "Climb High See Wide".

Through conscientious searching of reference sources like government documents, newspapers and school journals, conducting interviews with old girls and visiting historic sites, a more comprehensive and thorough understanding of the history of our alma mater finally came into light.

Tracing back to the origin in the "History" section, our school, formerly known as the Government Central School for Girls, marked a breakthrough of female education in Hong Kong in 1890. Like all pioneer works, the path was uncertain and rugged at the beginning but was brought to a new horizon blessed by the generous donation of Mr. Emanuel Raphael Belilios C.M.G. and the school was renamed after him as Belilios Public School in 1893. After the school building was destroyed in the Second World War, we began 20 years of "nomadic" life in borrowed school premises until we finally settled down in a campus of our own in 1965.

The perseverance of our alma mater for one hundred and twenty years was not easy and was attributable to the joint efforts of our dear principals and teachers with their vision, mission, passion and dedication and the love, care and mentorship of generations of students to their more junior counterparts. This is appropriately reflected in the sections of "Headmistresses and Principals", "Special Memories" and "Collective Memories" written by graduates from almost 50 years in this 120 Years Memoir.

As we look into the glorious past of our school with pride, let us join hands in making her shine even brighter in the future.
