Background
Founded in 1890, Belilios Public School (庇理羅士女子中學) was the first government school for girls in Hong Kong. By 2010, BPS will be celebrating her 120th Anniversary. Ever since she was set up, BPS has educated and nurtured many passionate and responsible girls and contributed invaluably to the building and development of our society. To further improve on the learning environment and broaden the horizons of BPS students, alumnae had gathered together and established the Belilios Old Girls Foundation (BOGF) to support the activities of students and as a special birthday present for our alma mater. The goal is not only to produce better graduates from BPS but also to provide Hong Kong with stronger candidates for better future development and growth.
A Council and five Committees have been formed to promote and pursue the work of BOGF. Council members will be entrusted with the responsibility to determine which activities should be supported by the BOGF funds. With the generous support of friends and benefactors, we hope to accumulate sufficient funds so that only interest and income accruing from the Foundation Fund each year will be used; the capital being preserved as principal to generate funds to meet the needs of years to come.
To enable us to accumulate sufficient funds by 2010 for such a meaningful undertaking for a better BPS and a better Hong Kong, your support is very important to us. You can help by joining the BOGF family. Various categories of memberships are available for your selection. Membership is for life and donations are cumulative. Please find enclosed information on How to Join the Foundation and the Donation Form. We thank you in advance for any support you are able to provide.
BOGF is going to organise one major event in November 2010 to celebrate the 120th Anniversary of BPS. Whether you were a former student of BPS or not, we would be very honoured if you could join us in this celebratory event as part of the BOGF family.
We look forward to hearing from you.
